Facts about Sound…
Sound is a form of energy.
Sound is caused by vibrations.
Vibrating objects make sound. This sound is passed to our ears and that is how we hear.
We hear a sound when the vibrating hits our ear drums.
Sound gets louder when the vibrations increase or get harder. The harder your hit something the louder the sound e.g. hitting a drum.
Sound travles through air and other materials such as wood, water, stone, glass and brick.
Pitch is how high or how low a note is.
The shorter the vibration the higher the pitch.
Test your knowledge on sounds by taking the following quiz!!!
